Longines, "Lindbergh - Hour Angle Watch?, No. 6/10, replica of the famous navigator's watch, invented by Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh and Longines in 1927, US Pat. 1923305. Produced in a small edition of 10 examples in 1987, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Lindbergh's first flight over the Atlantic Ocean in 1927. Fine and rare, hour-angle, center-seconds, 18K yellow gold aviator's wristwatch.
C. Four-body, solid, polished and brushed, hinged case back with dedication inside, revolving ridged bezel with enameled 15 degrees graduations, graduated case band, the ball-shaped crown also activates the revolving central dial, the pusher on the band allows setting the hands. D. White enamel with black enameled Roman numeral for the 12-hour indication, concentric, the 180 degrees in Arabic numerals, at the center, revolving satin silver dial with painted black Arabic numerals for the 60 minutes and red Arabic numerals for the 15 degrees. Black "Breguet" hands. M. Cal. L 628.1, rhodium-plated, ?oeil-de-perdrix? decoration, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 37 mm.
