Attributed to Alexandre Engel, Geneve, No. 6670, circa 1890. Fine 18K gold double-face keyless pocket watch with day-date calendar.
C. Four-body, hinged polished bezel, machine decorated band, hinged back with polished border, black and darkblue enamel monogram on a foliate scroll ground. Glazed cuvette. D. White enamel meantime dial with radialRoman numerals, gold dot minute markers and outer blue Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary seconds. Bluedsteel spade hands. Annular calendar dial with date numerals 1 - 31, days of the week scale. Blued steel hand foreach function. M. 43 mm (19???), frosted gilt, wolf's tooth winding, the great wheel arbor mounted with a double starcam operating the calendar mechanism, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance,blued steel Breguet balance spring.Numbered on the case and punched with the mark "AE".Diam. 51 mm.
