Swiss, made circa 1935. Very fine and exceptional miniature model of a watchmaker's bench with miniature machines and hand tools. Wooden bench with four-drawers, three-legged stool with height adjustment, miniature anglepoise lamp, stepped base with glazed cover. Miniature machines: face plate engine driven by a treadle, rounding-up tool, polishing tool, balance-wheel adjust-ment tool in a case inscribed J.R. 1934. Miniature hand tools: hammer, six hand-files, tweezers, oil-can, small vice, calipers, three depthing gauges, punching device. Dim. 25 x 16 x 18 cm. In good condition, cleaned

The model machines and hand-tools are exquisitely made and several of them have some moving parts. These pieces have been made by a highly skilled craftsman and are extremely rare.
