"Royal Presentation" Frederick Dent, Watchmaker to the Queen, 61 Strand, London, No. 26384, hallmarked 1862-63. Very fine, 18K gold hunting-cased pocket chronometer.
C. Five-body, ?bassine et filets?, by James Walter Stock (JWS), polished, hinged front cover with enameled mono-gramsurmounted by a crown, hinged bezel, reeded band. Gold hinged cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Romannumerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 40 mm. (17''' 3/4), frostedgilt, half-plate, turned ringed pillars, fusee with chain, Earnshaw spring detent chronometer escapement, cutbimetallic compensation balance, blued steel free-sprung helical balance spring, jeweled to the 4th wheel, balancewith diamond endstone.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 52 mm.
