English, No. 2088. London hallmarks for 1893 - 4. Very fine and rare 18K gold hunting-cased minute-repeating keyless pocket watch with split-second chrono-graph and 60-minute register.

Four-body, "bassine et filets", maker's initials EM, probably for Edward Morris, polished, hinged and sprungfront cover finely enameled with a crest of a hare in grass and the motto "Vestigia Nulla Restrorsum", hinged backcover with a finely enameled double monogram "JJB", swivel bow. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel, byWillis, radial Roman numerals, and outer Arabic five minutes and seconds markers, outer seconds divisions,subsidiary seconds and 60-minute recording dials. M. 43 mm. (19.5'''), three quarter plate, spotted gilt, jewelswith gold chatons, lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold timing screws, bluedsteel Breguet balance spring, diamond endstone, swan neck micrometer regulation, spotted steel chronographwork under the dial activated by a thumbnail button and another button in the band, repeating on two gongs acti-vatedby a slide in the band, chronograph functions locked when cover is closed.Numbered on the movement.Diam. 55 mm.
