Notes

The calibre of this watch with two barrel gearing on the same pinion, is based on the principle first employed by Breguet on marine chronometers and for quality watches fades sur le principe des garde temps. The two barrels acting in opposite directions, the opposing direction of thei r force bears equally on the pivots which suffer much less strain and friction and therefore allow to use much stronger mainsprings in order to supply enough power for an eight day going movement. The company was listed in La Chaux-de-Fonds as late as 1960 as "Eight Day Cornioley," as a continuation of F. Corniomey, founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1917.
