C. Three body with integral dome and reeded band, bezels, pendant and bow with cast shell-fish decoration, the back engraved with a view of a town and further rocaille decoration. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Hinged, gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, frictional rest escapement of Debaufre type with double escape wheel and single pallet, the back plate is engraved: Echappement vertical, deux trous en Pierre, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the dial and back plate. Diam. 50 mm.

This watch is a very good example of a Liverpool watch with Ormskirk verge escapement. Due to the contemporary French inscription engraved on the back plate, it was certainly retailed in France.
