German, circa 1900. Fine gilt brass and enamel singing bird box, in original fitted box.

Two piece rectangular, the side panel with white and blue champleve enamelled decoration, each centred with a small painted lakeside landscape, the cover and lid of the bird painted with pastoral scenes. Singing bird movement: rectangular plates with going barrel and rectangular bellow, the bird with moving wings and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with foliage. Trade mark punched on the base. Dim. 103 x 65 x 44 mm.
