"L'Exquisite", Swiss, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1900. Fine silver and enamel singing bird box.

C. Two piece rectangular with canted corners, fully decorated with a flinque enamelled, green, azure and purple floral decoration, the lid of the bird decorated en suite with a bird on a branch, and inside with a bouquet of purple flowers. Singing bird movement: rectangular plates with going barrel and rectangular bellow, the bird with moving wings and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with foliage. Trade mark punched on the base. Dim. 103 x 76 x 39 mm.
