Harper, London, circa 1690. Fine and very rare silver pair cased, Sun-and-Moon watch with subsidiary seconds.

C. Outer double body, silver, polished. Inner double body bassine with split bezel, polished. D. Silver champleve engraved with scrolled foliage in which Sun and Moon symbols, inlaid in a blued steel disc, appear alternatively in an open sector to indicate the hours of day and night, marked along the rim in Roman numerals, the minute being shown in a conventional manner on the outer Arabic ring, small subsidiary seconds. Blued steel minute hand. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with tulip pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with foliage. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 54 mm.
