James Nardin, Locle, Swiss, No. 3268, circa 1890. Very fine 18K pink gold keyless watch with split seconds chronograph and 1/4 second "Diablotine".
C. Four body, massive, "bassine " , polished. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals, red outer minute and chronograph rings, sunk subsidiary 1/4 seconds "foudroyante" and progressive 30 minutes register. Blued steel - "spade" hands. M. 19"' , nickel plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 22 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, adjusted 1/4 seconds beating cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with micrometric index patented on January 4, 1887. Chronograph with visible work, released by depressing the winding crown, split seconds push piece in the band. Signed on the cuvette and movement. Diam. 53 mm.
