Thomas Bennett, London, No. 236, circa 1710. Very fine 22K gold pair cased, quarter repeating watch.
C. Outer double body, the bezel pierced and repousse with floral and foliage decoration, the back repousse with a mythological scene, four outer profile portraits and further pierced and engraved foliage decoration. Inner double body, bassine, the band pierced and engraved with a mask and inhabited foliage. D. Later custom made white enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute ring. Later gold "spade" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with turned baluster pillars, fusee with chain, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with a mask, diamond endstone. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Silver dust cap. Signed on the back plate and dust cap. Diam. 51 mm.
