Guex a Paris, circa 1790. Fine 18K gold and enamel pearl-set watch in a glazed gilt brass protecting case.

Double body, Directoire, with split pearl set bezels the pendant with a paillone floral decoration on a blue ground, the back with a young couple paying tribute to the alter of love, painted on a blue flinque enamel ground. Glazed gilt bass outer case. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold skeletonised hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Signed on the dial and back plate. Diam. 56 mm.
