Grandjean & Co., Locle, No. 37292, Swiss, made for Federico Widmer, Guatemala, circa 1880. Fine and unusual keyless watch with triple calendar and and signs of the Zodiac.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets " , fully engraved with foliage and formal decoration, the cover centred with a small monogram engraved on an escutcheon. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border, engraved with foliage decoration. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, red outer ring for the months with the blue painted signs of the Zodiac, sunk subsidiary seconds, days of the month and days of the week. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Glazed, 19 -, nickel plated, three-quarter plate, "fausses cotes" decoration, 18 jewels mainly in gold screwed settings, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial, case and movement. Diam. 57 mm.
