Notes

This model is the first watch of the modern era. It appears si mple, but it has unique characteristics representing a high level of watchmaking. In addition to the "outside date", the movement has a twin mainspring barrel winding system: rare for a wristwatch. In homage to the famous five minute digital clock of the Dresden's Semper opera, planned and built in 1841 by Walter Lange's father-in-law Johann Christian Friedrich Gutkaes, the Lange 1 is characterized by the "outside date", a particular patented device of the German House.
