Donald J. Trump
A schoolboy's dream... a competitor 's challenge. Donald J. Trump, the Chairman and President of the Trump
Organization, is the very definition of the American success story, continually setting the standards of excellence
while expanding his interests in real estate, gaming, sports, and entertainment. He is the archetypal
businessman-a deal maker without peer and an ardent philantropist. In New York City, the Trump signature is
synonymous with the most prestigious of addresses. Among them are the world-renowned Fifth Avenue skyscraper,
Trump Tower and the luxury residential buildings, Trump Parc, Trump Palace, and Trump Plaza.
On January 15, 1997, Trump International Hotel and Tower opened its doors to the world. This 52-story
mixed-use super-luxury hotel and residential tower is located at the crossroads of Manhattan ' s West Side on
Central Park West at Columbus Circle. It is designed by world-famous architect, Philip Johnson. Mr. Trump is also
the owner of the largest undeveloped parcel of land in New York City, the West Side Rail Yards. This 100-acre
property, fronting the Hudson River, from 59th Street to 72nd Street, is valued in excess of $750 million, and is
the largest project ever approved by the New York City Planning Commission. When completed, Trump Place will
have 7,500 residential units and more than 2 million square feet of commercial space.
Also, with Asian investors, Mr. Trump has purchased the world-famous Empire State Building and is in the
process of developing a strategy for the partnership to maximize economic opportunity. In May of 1998, Mr.
Trump acquired The General Motors Building, a 1.7 million square foot property located on Fifth Avenue at 59th
Street, directly across from Central Park. This prestigious asset is widely regarded as the most valuable property in
the United States. Constructed in 1968, the building has always been at least 98% occupied and now hosts such
notable tenants as General Motors, Estee Lauder, and FAO Schwarz. Under Mr. Trump's management, the
property will realize its substantial retail and office potential.
