C. Four-body, "bassine", polished, chronograph buttons in the band and crown, chronograph locking slide in the band. Dedicated hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track with fifth of a second indexes and red painted Arabic five minute/second numerals, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 18''', rhodium plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, "superior adjustment", 40 jewels, some with screwed gold chatons, counterpoised and calibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, repeating on two gongs activated by a slide in the band. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. Diam. 50 mm.

Charles Henry Meylan. The C. H. Meylan Watch & Co. was founded in Le Brassus in 1880. Charles Henry Meylan was an eminent watchmaker, well known both in the United States and in Switzerland. In 1894, he was awarded the "Premier prix de réglage de l'Observatoire de Genève". He made high quality watches with complications, flat and extra flat watches and chronometers.
