"Spring Bouquet" Ilbery, London, No. 640. Made for the Chinese Market, circa 1840. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl set pocket watch with centre seconds.
C. Three-body, "Empire", pearl set bezel, stem and bow, hinged and sprungbackcover with pearl set border and painted with a bouquet of spring flowersupon abeige ground and within a turquoise and engraved gold scroll border, hingedand sprungglazed cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer secondstrack and Arabic quarter hour numerals. Blued steel "ovoid"hands. M. 44 mm, gilt "Chinese" calibre, foliate chased and engraved,standing barrel, jewels in screwed chatons, lateral lever escapement,three-arm polished steel balance, diamond endstone, index regulator.Movement signed.Diam. 55 mm.
