"Country Romance" Geneva, made circa 1790. Fine and rare, 18K gold and painted on enamel vase-form watch.

C. Two-body, in the form of a neoclassical vase, decorated with dark blue translucent guilloché enamel, whiteenamel detailing and gold paillons, hinged bezel, the back with a finely painted on enamel scene of a youngcouple in a landscape with a birdcage and a small white dog. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer dotminute markers and Arabic 15 minute numerals. Gold ?beetle and poker? hands. M. 27.5 mm., frosted gilt, fullplate, turned pillars, fusée with chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, short flat balance spring,silvered regulation dial.Dim. 68 x 43 mm.
