Swiss. Made circa 1830. Silver, quarter-repeating musical watch, playing on the hour or at will, with visible movement.

C. Three-body, large, ?bassine et filets?, polished, shutteredwinding holes. D. Annular, cream enamel with radial Romannumerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals,the centre open to reveal the movement. Blued steel ?spade?hands. M. 54 mm, gilt, lever escapement, three arm brass balance,musical train with large spring barrel and pinned discrotating against steel teeth, repeating on gongs activated byslide in the band.Case with Chester hallmarks for 1874.Diam. 67 mm.The present watch was upgraded in England in 1874. At that time,it was recased, the escapement was converted, and a new dial wasmade.
