Notes

Although it was made as a world time watch, this piece is constructed on the same principle as the inter city watch patented by Modeste Anquetin on 20 November, 1856, with additions on 31 August 1857, 5 February 1858, 16 June 1859 and 2 April 1863. This type of watch, the earliest produced, was described by Anquetin himself and illustrated in Revue Chamom31 ique, June 1857, Third Year, pp. 29-31 (photocopies supplied).
