C. Four body, massive, "bassine " , polished, by Edgar Wilkins (Master Mark), the cover with black champleve enamelled Roman numerals on the border of the dial aperture. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued-steel "spade" hands. M. 17"', frosted and gilt, three-quarter plate with raised barrel, English lateral lever escapement with pointed tooth escape wheel, cut bimetallic balance with diamond end-stone, free sprung blued-steel balance spring with terminal curve. Minutc repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 53 mm.
