Henry O. Stauffer, Ponts Martel, (Swiss), No. 2763, made for the American Market, circa 1885. Fine and unusual 18K gold hunting cased keyless commemorative watch with chronograph, patented on May, 9, 1882.

C. Four body, massive, " bassine et filets " , engineturned with reeded band, the cove centred with a blank escutcheon. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph rings, sunk centre and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Glazed 19''', German-silver, patented calibre, the bridges shaped to form: 1776, the year of the U.S. hidependence. Chronograph with push piece in the band. Signed on the dial and movement. Diam. 54 mm.
