Robin, de la Societe des Inventions et Decouvertes de France, aux Galeries du Louvre a Paris, circa 1798. Fine and unusual small mahogany hour and half-hour striking bracket clock with Republican calendar and phase of the moon.

C. Moulded rectangular with arched pediment, glazed side doors and back, moon-phase aperture below the dial, gilt bronze bezel, four square feet and pine-con finials, an eagle at the top. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer minute ring and Republican date on 30 days. Gilt brass Breguet hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels both on the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the dial, the front face below the moonphase aperture and the movement on the back plate. Dim. 35 x 18 x 11 cm.
