Dubois & Fils, Swiss, circa 1810. "La Lecture" Fine and rare ormolu, eight day going, hour and quarter striking clock.

C. Oval base on four bun feet and applied with a garland of flowers, the movement is fitted in a bookcase flanked by two seated boys in classical dress, each reading a book, a pair of flower wreaths at the top. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals. Blued steel hands. M. Brass circular, three trains of wheels with going barrels, going train with anchor escapement, plain short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on two bells independent trains for the hours and the quarters, the Neuchatel type striking work, set on the back plate. Dim. 43 x 30 x 20 cm.
