French, circa 1840. Fine and rare burr mahogany veneered, eight day going, hour and half-hour striking clock with double digital calendar and special escapement.

C. Rectangular bur r mahogany veneered with rounded corners and lemon wood stringing inlaid decoration. D. Silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer minute ring. Blued steel Breguet hands with skeletonised tips, inner gilt brass dial plate with apertures for digital days of the week and dates. M. Brass circular mouvement de Paris with going barrel both for the going and the striking train, visible crank escapement without escape wheel, the plain short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel in the back plate. Dim. 31 x 18,5 x 11 cm.
