English, No. 1651, circa 1780. Fine 18K gold and enamel, pearl and diamond-set watch with matching chatelaine.

C. Double body, Louis XVI with split-pearl set b ezels, the back blue enamel panel centred with a Cupid within an oval diamond-set frame. Large old-cut diamond set on the pendant. Very fine gold and enamel matching chatelaine with charms, a key and a seal decorated en suite. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals. Gold "poker and beetle" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, later English lateral lever escapement with pointed tooth escape wheel, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English cock pierced and engraved with foliage, diamond end-stone. Diam. 45 mm.
