Swiss, certainly made in Geneva, retailed in London by Hancocks' & Co, Jewellers & Silversmiths to the Queen, the Prince and the Princess of Wales, 38 & 39 Bruton Street, circa 1850. Magnificent and almost certainly unique 18K gold, turquoise, pearl and diamond-set fan with built-in watch, in a violet velvet fitted box.

The guards entirely covered with a fine turquoise and split-pearl set decoration are topped by turquoise, diamond and seed-pearl set crowns, the watch with hinged faceted crystal back fitted in one guard, a gilt monogram within a crystal medallion, fitted on the other, pierced mother-of-pearl sticks and delicate lace in place of leaves. Hinged engine-turned gold cuvette engraved with technical details. D. Matted silver with Roman numerals, the centre decorated with flowers and foliage. Gold Breguet hands. M. 6 1/2"', gilt brass, bar calibre with going barrel, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement with plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Dim. 280 x 30 mm
