Geneva, circa 1810. Very fine 18K gold and enamel form pearl-set pendant watch designed as a lute with visible balance cock.

C. Double body, the back with azure, green and black decoration, blue enamelled sound board, the border and sound hole bezel set with split pearls, gold wire strings with pearls-set pegs. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold "spade" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Dim. 59 x 28 mm.
