Berthoud a Paris, Swiss, No. 12821, circa 1820. Fine and unusual silver "Adam and Eve " calendar watch with visible mock pendulum and compass.

C. Three body, Empire with glazed back over the fixed silver engine-turned cuvette with glazed balance aperture. D. White enamel small eccentric with Breguet numerals and outer minute ring, subsidiary dial above for the dates, glazed symmetrical apertures for the compass and the subsidiary seconds, shown by a polished steel serpent on the border of a painted scene depicting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass balance with mock pendulum, gilt brass continental cock with pendulum aperture, polished steel endpiece. Apocryphal signature on the cuvette. Diam. 55 mm.
