Bovet, Fleurier, No. 473, Swiss, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1830. Very fine 18K gold and enamel, centre second watch with special escapement.
C. Three body, the bezels pendant and bow with champleve enamelled floral decoration, the back enamel panel painted with a fine composition of summer flowers on a blue ground. Hinged glazed gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Polished and blued steel, "Chinese" calibre with free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement with polished steel escape wheel and three-arm balance with wedge shaped and partly blued steel weights, flat balance spring and regulator. Signed on the movement. Diam. 57 mm.
