Notes

The distinctive watchmaking of Bovet Fleurier has its origins in an era familiar to aders of Antiquorum catalogues - that of the luxurious Chinese-market watches it made in the 19th century. Today Bovet still applies the rare decorative skills that create watches as individual works of art. Some 60% of Bovet's total productions are made to order, combining innovative complications with spectacular artwork in engraving, enamels and miniatures. This unique piece displays the talent of the artist whose miniatures come to life on mother-of-pearl and distil emotion in astonishingly fine resolution. The universal theme of compassion in Raphael's Madonna and Child recalls the inspiration of this watch. The complication is a jumping hour and a rotating minutes-ring driven by the latest-generation self-winding movement constructed for Bovet in Fleurier. This reliable I I 1 /2-ligne, twin-barrel movement has a 55 hours power reserve and is finely adjusted on a frequency of 28,800v/h. It is all housed in Bovet's trademark Fleurier case in 18K rose gold with the crown and bow at 12 o'clock - a convincing case for art.
