Double body oignon, engraved with a mask and inhabited foliage, the back chased with a mythological scene depicting Galatea scatted on her chariot designed as a cockle-shell drawn by dolphins, accompanied by Triton blowing a conch horn; above the head of Galatea, an arch of drapery symbolising the Roman spirit of the an and Amoretti flying and aiming arrows at her. D. Gilt-brass with Roman numerals on enamel cartouches. Blued-steel single hand. M. Hinged gilt-brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, short flat balance spring, fine giltbrass Louis XIV cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and centred with the head of a warrior. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 51 mm.
