Allen Walker, No. 301, made for the Dutch Market, circa 1760. "Solomon and the Queen of Sheba" Fine 20K gold pair-cased watch with repousse case.
C. Double body outer, the bezel chased with floral and rocaille decoration, the back repousse in high relief with a scene depicting the Queen of Sabat in front of King Solomon (I Kings 10:1-13), a camel in the background. Double body "bassine" inner, polished. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes ring with arched divisions. Gold Louis XV hands. M. Hinged gilt-brass full plate with square baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt-brass Dutch style cock pierced and engraved with a crowned head in profile of an old man, surmounted by a winged sand-glass and flanked by two scythes. Signed on the dial and back plate. Diam. 46 mm.
