J cq, Jolly, late 19th century. Fine and unusual oval silver reproduction of a 17th century watch, in leather covered brass and silver fitted box.

C. Three body, polished with finial and loose ring pendant. Leather covered outer protecting case with silver holders. D. Small silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, applied on a very fine silver dial plate engraved with inhabited foliage and two small hunting scenes above and below the dial. Blued-steel single hand. Hinged shaped brass full plate with turned baluster pillars, fusee with gut line, verge escapement, plain steel two arm balance without spring, 17th century style irregular balance cock pierced and engraved with foliage. Apocryphal signature on the back plate. Dim. 103 x 35 mm.
