John Parkes & Sons, Makers to the Admiralty, Liverpool No. 10.068, circa 1890. Fine 56 hour going, mahogany marine chronometer with power reserve indicator.

C. Three body mahogany box with internal handles the glazed upper section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimballed suspension. D. Silvered with Roman numerals, outer minutes ring, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down scale. Polished-steel "pear" hands. M. Brass, spotted finished full plate with cylindrical pillars, John Preston calibre from 1888, fusee with maintaining power, mainspring signed Geo Cotton dated 1915, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, two-arm bimetallic compensation balance with cylindrical weights and timing screws, diamond endstone, free sprung palladium helical balance spring with terminal curves. Signed on the dial and the mahogany box. Dial diam. 85 mm. Dim. 18,5 x 18,5 x 19,5 cm.
