Jn. Curtis, London, No. 5918 made for the Dutch Market, with London hallmarks for 1786. "The presentation in the Temple" Very fine 22K gold triple-cased repousse watch.

C. Gilt-brass sharkskin covered protecting case. Outer gold double body, the bezel repousse with floral and rocaille decoration, the back repousse in high relief with a scene featuring Pnri/zcatio Bealae Marice Virgins (Luke 2: 22-38) the border repousse with decoration matching that of the bezel. Inner "bassine", polished. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes ring with arched divisions. Blued-steel "poker and beetle" hands. M. Hinged gilt-brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt-brass Dutch style cock pierced and engraved with floral and foliage decoration. Signed on the dial and back plate. Diam. 54 mm.
