Cronier, rue Honore a Paris, circa 1793. Fine and rare white marble and gilt-bronze, hour and half-hour striking, duo-decimal and decimal centreseconds clock with republican calendar on 30 days.
C. Rectangular white marble base on four gilt-bronze feet, rectangular gilt-bronze body with moulded base and gallery top, glazed on four faces, the front one with applied ribbon and branches above the chased bezel and scrolled foliage below the dial. D. White enamel by Coteau with Roman numerals, outer minutes and red Republican calendar date rings, inner concentric red Arabic decimal hours and minutes rings. Gilt-brass pierced and engraved hands, blued-steel counterpoised seconds and "arrow" calendar hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, pin-wheel escapement set on the back plate, half-seconds beating sun pendulum with spring suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed both by Cronier and by Coteau on the dial. Dim. 47 x 29 x 19 cm.
