Tiffany & Co., New York, Swiss, No. 16004, circa 1870. Fine and unusual 18K pink gold, keyless watch with split-seconds chronograph.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished, the back engraved with a monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with small eccentric sunk Roman chapter ring on the left, for hours and minutes sunk subsidiary seconds, symmetrically disposed on the right, red Arabic chronograph ring on the bezel's border. Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. 19"', nickel plated, three-quarter plate, "fausses cotes " decoration, 23 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Chronograph with visible work released from the winding-crown, split-seconds push piece in the band. Signed on the dial, case and movement. Diam. 53 mm.
