Le Roy & Fils, 57 New Bond Street, London, Clock Maker to the Queen, 13-15 Palais Royal, Paris, made for the English Market, with London hallmarks for 1874. Fine and very rare 18K gold hunting cased, keyless quarter repeating Grande and Petite Sonnerie, striking clock watch.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets " , engineturned. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Bluedsteel "spade " hands. M. 13"', frosted and gilt, threequarter plate, Swiss made, double train with differential winding, going train fully jewelled in screwed settings, English pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued-steel balance spring with terminal curve and regulator. Striking and repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Grande and Petite Sonnerie/Silent selection levers on the bezel's border. Signed on the cuvette. Diam. 43 mm.
