C. Double body, bezel and shoulders set with rose-cut diamonds, the back engraved with crossed quiver and arrows. D. Gold with raised Arabic numerals over a matted ground. Gold "spade " hands. M. Hinged giltbrass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fixed barrel with revolving arbor, cylinder escapement with brass escape wheel, plain gold three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt- brass continental cock with polished-steel end-piece. Signed on the dial rim. Dim. 21 x 13 mm.

This movement, with a diameter of 11mm, weights 1,2 gr. It wits certainly the smallest ever made for the period. According to O. Panr izzi, Dictionu nne ties Horlogets Genevois, Antiquorum Editions, to be published in 1998, Pierre Morand was specialised in the production of three coloured gold watches, automaton and musical watches; he also made a pair of three coloured gold musical coach watches for the Chinese Market, one with a Chinese music, the other with a European one. The earliest watches carrying his signature, were produced circa 1770 and his production with the sauce signature continued until 1830.
