The S.AAV. Company has dedicated its collection of diver's watches to the J.-M. Cousteau Institute. Worn regularly by divers in J.-M. Cousteau team for over a year, they have already more than proved their technical sophistication and quality. Cousteau, Jacques-Yves (1910-1997). French naval officer and underwater explorer, born in Saint-Andre, Gironde, France. He invented the aqualung diving apparatus in 1943, founded the French navy's undersea research group in 1946 and in 1947, he made a world record nee dive of 91 meters. As commander of the oceanographic research ship "Calypso", he made the first underwater lilm. Having retired from the navy in 1956, he was appointed Director of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco (1957-1988). His famous films include "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau" (1968-1976) and "Lilliput in Antarctica (1990).
