G. Dupre, circa 1900. Very fine and unusual Art Nouveau silver panel decorated by G. Dupre, pivoting within a pique a jour frame fitted with a small watch.

Rectangular silver panel with arched top, decorated on one face with an allegorical scene featuring a kneeling old man and a child facing the ocean, the reverse with a seaside landscape with inscription: Quand tout change pour tot, la nature est la meme et le meme soled se levera sur tes jours (when everything changes for you, nature remains unchanged and the same sun will enlighten your clays). The panel revolves within a silver frame chased with holly foliage and pique a jour decoration, the watch fitted above the panel. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 12"', frosted and silvered, half plate, 6 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the silver panel. Dim. 190 x 78 mm.
