Gruen Fiftieth Anniversary, No. 108, specially made in 1924 for Edgar J. Kaufmann. Fine and rare 18K white gold pentagonal keyless watch, from a limited edition of 600 pieces, the number of months Gruen had been in business since 1874.

Three body, massive pentagonal, band pendant and bow chased with floral decoration, the polished back centred with black champleve enamelled initials "E.J.K.", the border engraved with the dedication: Presented by members, Sdand by Club of Kaufmann.'c the big store. Hinged gold cuvette engraved: Made especially for Edgar J. Kaufmann. D. Two tone silvered with applied gold Arabic numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold fancy hands. M. 16"', 12K gold bridges engraved with scrolled foliage, 21 jewels, 2 diamonds, Extra Precision, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with micrometric index. Signed on the dial, case and movement. Diam. 45 mm.
