C. Three body Empire, the back painted in "vernis Martin" with a scene depicting the first ascent in a free balloon. Hinged gilt brass cuvette painted with another scene depicting the enthusiasm of a maiden for such an important event. D. Silver engine-turned with Roman numerals. Blued steel hands with gold tips. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass threearm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with ruby end-stone. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Diam. 55 mm.
