Swiss, circa 1800. Fine and unusual 18K gold and enamel, double face watch with automaton scene.

C. Three body Directoire with glazed back, the bezels with champleve enamelled decoration. D. White enamel on the front with Roman numerals and outer minute ring. Gold "half moon " hands. Painted automaton domestic scene on the reverse, depicting a lady spinning at her wheel and a boy grinding a knife. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, double train on two levels, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance countersunk on the back plate, flat balance spring, regulator with index in the gilt brass dial rim. Subsidiary train with going barrel driving the automata by means of a cam and levers. Diam. 57 mm.
