C. Bruguier a Geneve, No. 402, circa 1850. Very fine and rare silver gilt enamel, singing bird box, with built-in watch in original red leather fitted case and mahogany outer protecting box.
C. Two part with lobed corners, engine-turned and engraved with Iloral decoration, the cover enamelled with composition of summer flowers over a white ground; black champleve enamelled border and further decoration. Hinged cover for the watch compartment. Lid of the bird enamelled with a view of the Pont du Mont Blanc in Geneva and inside with a composition of flowers over a blue ground. Pierced and engraved silver gilt grid. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 12"' , gilt brass square, bar calibre with going barrel, 6 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain gilt brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Singing bird movement: Brass plate, fusee with chain, stacked cams, fly regulator and rectangular bellow. Multicoloured feathered bird with moving body, wings, tail, opening beak and turning head. Signature punched on the movement. Dim. 40 x 60 x 96 mm.
