Notes

J. Fournier (18341920), Horloger de la Marine, began his production in 1888 and was awarded the 1st prize at the timing contest organised in 1889-1890, with his chronometer No. 2. He married the daughter of Delepine and became his successor around 1895. 1-Iis own production therefore followed the serial numbers of his fatherinlaw ' s. This chronometer is certainly among the first produced in his father-in-law' s workshop. A very similar chronometer by E. Delepine is described and illustrated by Hans von Bertele in Marine unto Tasehenelsronomeler, Galhvey 1981, p. 257.
