C. Double body, Louis XVI, polished. Hinged glazed gilt brass dust cap, engraved on the border: "Helvetiarum Jus Ador Sue Crucix". D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold "half moon" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass threearm balance, fiat balance spring with regulator. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 54 mm.

Made in Neuchatel (Switzerland), according to the inscription and die signature in Latin, was certainly commissioned by a clergy man, if not even produced by a Clark himself, Co. Chailleto being unrecorded as a watchmaker.
