E.G.L., Paris, No. 4324, circa 1890. Very fine and rare gilt bronze and porcelain, "grande and petite somnerie", quarter-repeating carriage clock.

C. Gilt bronze, "Gorge", fully engraved with a formal decoration, glazed on the top and back door, with porcelain side panels painted with Romantic scenes within gilt frames, over a blue ground. D. Porcelain with a decoration matching that of the panels, chapter ring with Roman numerals, the centre painted with two Cherubs. Gilt brass Breguet hands. M. Brass, eight-clay with going barrels both on the going and the striking trains, platform with lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued-steel Breguet balance spring. Striking and repeating on gongs with button on the top, grande and petite sonnerie/silent, optional lever in the base. In very good condition. Dim. 12 x 8 x 7 cm., excluding the handle.
